The constant ache in Ben’s shoulders was a physical manifestation of his stress. He hadn't been able to sleep well, and his dreams were filled with distorted images of academic papers and accusatory voices. He’d taken to walking around campus late at night, the empty quad offering a semblance of peace.

He tried to focus on his next assignment, but his mind kept wandering back to the email. He'd check it every few minutes, as if waiting for a sudden, unexpected reprieve. The thought of expulsion was a constant shadow, a haunting specter.

He avoided social gatherings and cancelled plans with friends. He felt isolated, trapped in a self-imposed prison. The world was closing in on him.
